Current membership and responsibilities

I am link Governor for Curriculum, teaching and learning.

Governor Experience

During my teaching career I was a teacher governor for two terms. In more recent years I have been a Regional Governance Manger for a large Multi Academy Trust and later a Governance Development Manager for the same Trust where I looked after both the recruitment and training of governors across 22 schools.

Professional Experience

I have a BA hons in Religious Studies and was a Secondary Religious Education teacher for 14 years and a Head of Year for 12. Upon leaving teaching I set up my own business running a café-bar and events company. I sold this business upon the birth of my daughter. I then worked part-time as a School Governance Clerk and virtual admin assistant, before joining a large Trust in the Governance team. For the last two years I have worked in a local Primary School as a Finance Officer.

Personal Interests

We moved to the village two years ago and my daughter is currently in Year 4. As a family we love spending time together, being creative and having fun. We love Escape rooms, the theatre, History and exploring new places! My daughter is mad about all things Lego and I am officially her Lego slave as well as her taxi to the various theatrical rehearsals and performances she’s involved in. We are also passionate about getting involved in our local community. As such, I am currently a member of the School Parent Council and the Co-Chair of the Parent Teacher Association. I enjoy organising and helping at local community events, such as the annual community fayre and the Community Bonfire. I love swimming and I am currently (as I’m writing this) regularly attending the gym in an attempt to get fitter – long may this continue!
