Current membership and responsibilities

Michelle is Chair of Governors, sits on the Standards Committee, Head Teacher’s Performance Committee, and is Link Governor for Curriculum, Teaching and Learning.

Governor Experience

Since joining the Board of Governors at Whittington Primary School in 2018 Michelle has been Link Governor for Curriculum, Teaching and Learning, Chair of the Standards Committee, Vice Chair of Governors, sat on the Head Teacher’s Performance Committee, led the Academisation Working Party and is currently Chair.

Professional Experience

Michelle graduated with a degree in Russian and French, she then taught English in both Russia and France and gained a Masters in Translation. She subsequently worked for many years in franchise development in the manufacturing sector becoming a board director. Her career has enabled her to develop a wide variety of strategic skills whilst developing franchise networks in the UK and France and training and developing teams in both markets. This experience and mix of skills will help her to support and challenge the leadership team at Whittington in its aims and ambitions to enable every pupil to achieve their potential and to enjoy their time at Whittington Primary School.

Personal Interests

Michelle has two children at Whittington Primary School; as a family they enjoy being outdoors, walking their 3 dogs, cycling and a variety of sports.
